Walking

Walking is a joy in this coastal area, with promenades along the beach, dunes to climb, and nature preserves to explore. You could start with the promenade des fleurs (Bloemenwandeling), with 5 signposted mi beside willow-lined avenues, gardens, and mansions. Or walk into the surrounding countryside, a picture-book setting of green fields and whitewashed farmhouses with red-tile roofs. Tourist boards offer mapped walking routes (wandelroutes), and you can cycle along signed bike paths or ride on horse trails along the routes as well.
