Brugge
Green Spaces
The green belt along the old city walls is a good place for jogging; it runs alongside the canals and between the city's medieval gates. You can jog between Ezelpoort and Smedenpoort and on to the railway station, or from Dampoort along Kruisvest to Katelijnepoort.
If you head a little ways beyond the city center you can reach some lovely large parks. The wooded Stedelijk Domein Beisbroek (Beisbroek City Park) in Sint-Andries, for instance, draws people for jogging, walking, or playing with kids. It has picnic areas, a deer park, a castle with a nature center, and even an observatory. To get here, take a bus from 't Zand or the train station. The Provinciaal Domein Tillegembos in Sint-Michiels is another good spot. This woodland estate has playgrounds, a horse mill, and a 14th-century castle. Catch the bus from the Biekorf in the center of Brugge.
