This five-story complex incorporates the fin-de-siècle facade of what was once the Grand Bazar department store. Mahogany doors open onto spacious guest rooms with duvet-topped beds and flat-screen TVs. The bathroom mirrors are even heated so they won't steam up when you most need them. Multiple telephones, data ports, and Wi-Fi access make each room business-friendly; the neutral color scheme won't distract you from your work. Afternoon tea is served in the marble-floor lobby. Pros: luxurious; large rooms; centrally located. Cons: such luxury doesn't come cheap.

Great Location - 5 to 10 minutes to all major sights and shopping areas - excellent as I'm travelling with a 2 year old.
Check out summer deals - brings prices down to about 160 Euros per night with breadfast for 2.
Great breadfast for European standards - kids eat free
Rooms are clean and roomy with all the necessary amenities and Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries - modern furnishings but not new - good for European standards
Managed to get early check-in at 12 noon and late check out at 2 pm
Service is fast and excellent - hotel staff is knowledgable, helpful and friendly - excellent for European standards
