With an intimacy often lacking in larger restaurants, Hofzeile 27 seats just a dozen guests. Sibylle Fellner-Kisler opened up her elegant home in Döbling (Vienna's most affluent district), cooking classic Austrian dishes with creativity and flair. Dinner is a fabulous five courses of outstanding fare. Each menu is prepared nightly, but can include an octupus salad for an appetizer, vichyssoise, and for the main course halibut with fennel, and jerusalem artichokes topped
with a lemon sauce. For dessert, creme brulet, all rounded out with a glass of champagne. She also serves brunch and lunch. There's a comprehensive wine list, a stylish bar, and terrace to boot. Reservations are accepted by phone and email.
