Book NowImperial Review
One of the landmarks of the Ringstrasse, this hotel has exemplified the grandeur of imperial Vienna ever since it was built. Adjacent to the Musikverein concert hall, the emphasis here is on Old Vienna elegance and privacy, which accounts for a guest book littered with names like Elizabeth Taylor, José Carreras, and Bruce Springsteen. The main lobby looks as opulent as a Hofburg ballroom and the ground-floor showpiece, the Marmorsaal, or Marble Hall, where you can dine amid Corinthian columns, is quite spectacular. Guest rooms are furnished with sparkling chandeliers, gorgeous swagged fabrics, and original 19th-century paintings. Suites come with a personal butler.

This hotel is truly beautiful and we are planning to return in January 2008 inspite of the 2 criticisms we have about our last visit. First, we left a portable Ipod video player in the hotel's fitness club. After only 1 hour later, we returned and it was gone. It was never turned in to the hotel's lost and found. Either the staff members are untrustworthy or the caliber of their hotel guest are dishonest. Very disappointing. Secondly, as a gay couple, we didn't always feel welcomed. Especially by the older male staff such as doorman, front desk reception and concierge. We observed how friendly they were to other guests yet with us conversation was limited to yes or no without a smile. Nevertheless, those incidents weren't enough to keep us away. We are looking forward to our visit and stay at this hotel.
