Volksgarten Review

Back in 1870, Viennese used to come to the Volksgarten to waltz, drink champagne, and enjoy the night in a candlelit garden. Today they come to the same site to diskothek the night away under pink strobes, enjoy some boogie-woogie or tango dancing in the Tanzcafe (Dance Café), and sip beer amid the greenery. A best bet when you don't know where else to head, this all-in-one club complex is set within a lush garden and has a pretty, vaguely Jugendstil dining salon with a vast curved wall of windows overlooking a terrace set with tables. Beyond lies the Pavilion, a 1950s jewel that looks airlifted from California, which serves brews and nibbles.
