Housed in the former Palais Cavriani, this B&B just off the Graben is about as central as you can get. It's one of those typical Viennese mansion-turned-apartment houses, adorned with touches of bygone grandeur: case in point, the palatial grand staircase. Most rooms are spacious and comfortable. Some have canopy beds and chandeliers, others are decorated with repro–antique furniture that verges on the kitsch. The street outside gets a lot of horse-drawn carriages (and street sweepers at night), so opt for a courtyard room if you need peace and quiet.
