Jamek Review
The Jamek family's country inn on the Danube is well known throughout Austria for its fine cuisine. You can dine either in one of several rooms tastefully decorated with 19th-century touches or outdoors in the shady garden. Start with the vegetable torte gratin, and then go on to lightly fried Zanderfilet (pike perch) on a bed of garlicky spinach. Don't miss the house specialty, the surprisingly light chocolate cake with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Wines are from the nearby family vineyards; guided tours of the vineyards take place regularly. Jamek is just west of Weissenkirchen in Joching.
