Hois'n Wirt Review

This large, modern-chalet complex enjoys a swooningly idyllic Traunsee setting. Now run by the fourth generation of the Schallmeiner family, it's geared to please. The restaurant has a glittering glass window wall overlooking the lake, the kitchen uses the lake as its larder, cooking up some of the best trout and Reinanke around, and guest rooms are pretty, light-filled, and casual-modern, with balconies overlooking the lakeside beach. Many guests check in and then immediately dive in. In a house not far away from the hotel, Arnold Schoenberg composed his first official string quartet and started painting.
