About a 15-minute walk downriver from the Altstadt in the Müllner neighborhood, this is one of the top spots where the artists of the summer festival like to celebrate after their premieres. Everyone enjoys the traditional Salzburg cooking: the delicious Schott (cheese) soup, or the potato goulash with chunks of country ham, spinach dumplings in brown butter, or original Wiener Schnitzel. Happily, all this is served up in a delicious, centuries-old building with fetching accents provided by vaulted ceilings, leaded-glass windows, and homespun tablecloths. There's a big shady garden for dining in summer.
