Salzburger Marionettentheater

Fodor's Review:

The delightful, acclaimed Salzburger Marionettentheater is also devoted to opera, with a particularly renowned production of Così fan tutte to its credit. The Marionettentheater not only performs operas by Mozart, but also goodies by Rossini, the younger Strauss, Offenbach, Humperdinck, and Mendelssohn (who wrote the music for the troupe's delightful show devoted to William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Performances are staged during the first week of January, during Mozart Week (late January, from May through September, and December 25 through January 7. Tickets usually range from EUR 18 to EUR 35. The box office is open Monday through Saturday 9-1 and two hours before the performance.
