The 500-year-old building now occupied by the Black Eagle was once home of Emperor Maximilian's stables. Today it attracts those in search of a romantic experience. Most of the guest rooms are decorated with taste and creativity. For a taste of the good life, request the Swarovski Dream, a suite with a crystal bathroom. The open-air rooftop terrace offers an eye-popping view of the city and the mountains, making it the ideal place to enjoy an aperitif served by the well-trained staff. If the weather is cooperating, head to the small spa, one of the most intimate in Innsbruck. Pros: lovely spa; efficient staff; unique rooms. Cons: only one elevator; some rooms face busy street.
