Jenbach

Fodor's Review:

Jenbach, 8 km (5 mi) north of Schwaz, across the river, is notable mainly as a rail and highway junction; from here Route 169 follows the Ziller Valley (Zillertal) south, past the Gerlos Valley (Route 165) and the Tuxer mountain range to Mayrhofen. The Achensee lies on the plateau to the north, fed by the Achen River rising high in the mountains beyond, on the German border. Both regions have become immensely popular with tourists.
