Built in the 16th century with proceeds from copper and silver mining, Kitzbühel itself is scenic enough. Among its pleasures are its churches, such as St. Andrew's parish church (1435-1506), which has a lavishly Rococo chapel, the Rosakapelle, and the marvelously ornate tomb (1520) of the Kupferschmid family.
