Achenseebahn

Fodor's Review:

The most adventuresome and romantic way to reach the Achensee is on the steam-powered train, the Achenseebahn, built in 1889 as Tirol's first mountain cog railway. The line does its 1,300-foot climb in a nearly straight line more than 7 km (4½ mi) to the lower end of the Achensee (Seespitz).
