This ski-in ski-out hotel is right at the base of the lifts, so you can be at the slopes in minutes. Even if it has expanded a lot—maybe too much—since it opened in 1889, the hotel still offers a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Complimentary robes and slippers await you in every room for use in the large spa area with its outdoor pool and
hot tub overlooking the mountains. All rooms have natural-wood touches, but standard rooms can seem small. In winter, the outdoor Umbrella Bar serves tea and warm wine for après-ski. All the milk and butter served in the hotel comes from the adjacent farm. Pros: plenty of activities; close to lifts; relaxed vibe. Cons: rooms facing north have less impressive views; long walk to elevators.
