Within walking distance of the center of Ellmau, "The Bear" is known throughout Austria as one of the best country inns. An elegant but relaxed vibe pervades permeates every part of the place, including the attractive Tyrolean-style guest rooms. Many outdoor activities throughout the year make this place popular with outdoorsy types. In winter you can relax in the wellness area after a morning spent skiing, while in summer you can grab your clubs and head out to the links. The kitchen does best with local dishes, such as roast lamb or wild game. Pros: outstanding food; something for everyone. Cons: outside the town center.
