Carinthischer Sommer
Carinthischer Sommer Review
Even though Ossiach is a very small town, it hosts an internationally renowned music event, the Carinthischer Sommer. Held in July and August, the Carinthian Summer Festival emphasizes 20th-century compositions. However, along with Benjamin Britten's opera The Prodigal Son you might also hear some Mozart and Vivaldi, plus a little jazz and even some klezmer. Chamber concerts are all the more attractive for being presented in the chapel or the monastery.
