Housed in the Hotel Post, the Stadtrestaurant is known among locals as the best restaurant in town (in fact, this is where culinary giant Wolfgang Puck got his start—he worked here briefly as an apprentice chef before heading to Los Angeles to open his famed restaurant Spago). Dine in country-casual comfort on wild duck carpaccio followed by Kärtner Käsnudeln, that favorite Carinthian specialty of large, round ravioli stuffed with cheese. Vegetables and herbs are straight from the bountiful hotel garden. In summer tables are set outdoors in the Orangerie, where wild roses and ivy climb the courtyard walls.
