Well-prepared food, a waitstaff with a fine attention to detail, and world-class old-world ambience make this a destination for special-occasion dining for both locals and visitors. In the glow of candlelight—at tables impeccably dressed with fine linens, silver settings, and sparkling crystal—you can start off with French-bred-and-trained Hervé Chassin's crispy conch fritters served with a spicy-sweet mango chutney or a wilted spinach salad for two prepared table-side. Then choose from such entrées as black-sesame-crusted tuna with a ginger-raspberry sauce or succulent roast duck with a ginger-tamarind sauce. The passion-fruit cheesecake is to die for. If dinner is out of your budget, go for lunch and order from among the quiches, salads, and grilled sandwiches served in the open-air bistro on the first floor.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the wait staff top notch and the food exceptional. It was the perfect place for our daughter's wedding reception/dinner. We can't say enough about how great the whole experience was for us and our guests. Thanks to Paulette and Herve!

We recently returned from our stay in St. Thomas during which our son had his Bar Mitzvah at the Synagogue. After many phone calls to hotels and restaurants, we decided to have our celebration at Herve. This was the best decision we could have made. We are more than pleased with how everything turned out. Paulette, the owner, was extremely helpful and friendly through the whole planning process, other restaurant owners should take lessons from her. My husband and I would also like to compliment the staff for their attentiveness, friendliness and perfect service. The food was outstanding, as a matter of fact, many of our guests commented that the meal at Herve was the best one they had in St. Thomas.

Just returned from St. Thomas and ate, once again, at Herve's = they are very hospitable, gracious and service was good -the view is also outstanding but the clientele is somewhat stuffy - I don't think its over the top, if you know what I mean - I enjoyed Romano's much more

Where shall we begin? Our wedding reception lunch was like a typical reception. After our Magen's Bay beach ceremony, we all gathered at Hervé to relax, have a cool drink and sit down to a great lunch. It couldn't have been any better.
The food was fantastic and beautifully presented. The view was all we had imagined and each member of our party commented on what a great choice Hervé was.
Our table was ready when we arrived and we were seated without delay.
Our waiter was top notch and very attentive to our group. He made us feel as if we were the only group in the restaurant.
One other thing - a gratuity is automatically added to the final tab of a group our size. Our server created two checks - one for the food and bar and a second for the merchandise we bought. He did this so the automatic gratuity would not be added to the merchandise amount. This is a first class move that did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Totally top notch.
Our afternoon at Hervé was a wonderful end to a very special day!

We recently held our wedding reception for 50 guests at Herve in April. Prior to settling on Herve for our reception, we checked several online reviews and consistently found that it received the highest marks. When we arrived, we were not disappointed. Everything turned out beautifully! We are continuing to receive compliments from our guests regarding how much they enjoyed the food and how much fun they had at the reception, and the view was amazing! The staff was great. Paulette, Herve's wife, helped ensure that all events went smoothly, down to the last detail. We had several opportunities to dine at nice restaurants on St. Thomas and the other islands in the Caribbean for our honeymoon and nothing compared to the meal we had at Herve. We look forward to dining there again the next time we are in St. Thomas!

Don't even think about driving here. The chef can't seem to manage accompaniments - bland vegatables for example.

For our wedding we wanted to get our guests out to experience what we heard was the best restaurant on the Island. I couldn't have asked for more. They were great to work with prior to the wedding. We didn't have a traditional reception, just a beautiful dinner and had a wedding cake brought in from V.I. Deserts (Cake was amazing too). We were there in time to witness the beautiful sunset view. From our guests, we heard nothing but raving reviews about the food and wine. From the salad right on down to drinks and desert, everything was great! Everyone at Herve did an excellent job of pulling everything together and their attention to detail. The service was great, they have fabulous people working there. We highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

Simply a lovely restaurant, with an elegant but not stuffy atmosphere, attentive staff and superb sunset views of the harbor. We spoke with locals who say it is their "go to" place for special occasions. We are sure to return, as well.

This is no doubt one of the best restaurants on St. Thomas (or for that matter, anywhere) The view is exceptional; it's best to get there early for the sunset. The service is friendly yet professional, and the food is consistantly superb (during our two week stay we dined there three times) They make a flambed spinach salad tableside that is quite likely the best salad we have ever had...While it is the perfect spot for your last night on island, don't wait til then; you'll be sorry!

Herve is quite simply superb, from the exquisite escargot prepared with tomato and basil to the to-die-for wilted spinach salad prepared tableside, and the scrumptious bouillabaise, this is an absolute can't miss restaurant for people who appreciate fine food. The dishes are prepared in a classic style with a bit of island flair and panache. The service was expert and attentive (ask for Simon) and the view from the dining room was magnificent. A true gem in the USVI resturant landscape.

What a wonderful restaurant to hold a party....or any occasion for that matter. Recently we held our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Herve's. We had it in their semi-private wine bar room and everyone had a great time. The sunset was beautiful, the food fantastic and the service excellent. A little extra note -- the owners Paulette and Herve are a wonderful couple and would do anything to make your experience there special. Thanks!!!
