Fodor's Review

You get beachfront ambience at this reasonably priced miniresort tucked beneath the palm trees, but the tradeoff is that it's directly across from a noisy airport runway. You'll definitely want to spend time on the white-sand beach, which can be seen from nearly every room in the four three-story, peach-color buildings. Stay here if you need the beach on a budget or if you have an early-morning flight. Named an eco-friendly Blue Flag resort in 2013.

"Best" Value for a week's vacation

After staying our first night on St. Thomas at a "sister" Best Western ("Carib")on the other side of Lindberg Bay, we were pleasantly surprised with differences at the Emerald Beach. (I'll be kind and say more about the Carib). Great room on the 3rd floor (try to get on 2nd or 3rd floor) with a gorgeous view of the beach - all rooms are "ocean front." In mid-Aug it was HOT - but the A/C worked great and we were never uncomforable - except at times

in the open air restaurant ("Palms") - although the numerous ceiling fans certainly helped (and affected our choice of tables!) The continental breakfast was a continental breakfast - what else can I say? However, the dinners were great. Don't miss the Friday night (West Indian) buffet or Sunday Brunch (Get there before 1:30 PM if you want to enjoy the shrimp - they seemed to have vanished all too fast! Pay attention during dinner and brunch to the "Pannest" - Aben Marrero - he's a gifted musician and volcalist (buy his CD - we're still playing it). This motel is a very good value for the week we stayed there. Rent a car if you want to get around - plenty of parking at the hotel. The proximity of the AP was no bother. Some of the staff can be a little "layed back" but, Hey, it's the Virgin Islands - enjoy! Oh yeah, the snorkling close to the rocky East shore was fair with lots fish and very convenient. But don't miss Coki Beach (or Trunk Bay - St. John).

Nice airport beach hotel needs to freshen up

Great hotel for a one nighter if flying out - 2 minutes from airport. The Beach is great (some airport noise though). The rooms are starting to look pretty played out. Not bad all in all.

Nice Hotel

Lovely hotel, room, beach. Lots of nice extras - refrigerator, safe, coffee, hair dryers in room. Good continental breakfast. We walked to the airport in the morning (it was that close, but planes flying by really weren't a problem). Only complaint - their literature says they have a free shuttle running to downtown Charlotte Amalie, and it is exactly that: one shuttle leaves at 9:30 in the morning, and there is no return. If it fills up, they

do not run a second. Other than that, I would recommend this place.
