Sugar Bay Resort & Spa Review

The only completely all-inclusive resort on St. Thomas, this terra-cotta high-rise is surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, but the rooms and the walkways between them feel a little generic. That said, the sixth and seventh levels in building D have spectacular ocean views. The rooms, furnished in a plantation style, have plush carpeting, and marble-tile bathrooms. The beach is small, although the nearby pool is replete with waterfalls and colorful cabanas housing hair braiders and henna tattoo artists that make a day of lounging here idyllic. It's a 99-step hike from guest rooms, however. Health buffs enjoy the full-service spa and health club, as well as the outdoor fitness trail. If you're feeling lucky, head to the Ocean Club Gaming Center, where there are 95 video slot machines.

    we loved it

Me and my girlfriends just came back from a weekend stay at Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa. We left relaxed and rejuvenated. The whole resort was beautiful and the staff was helpful and friendly! We can't wait to go back on another trip.

    Highly Recommend

We were very pleased with our room, the view and helpful, friendly staff. The hotel was all we expected and more. When we return, we will definitely staff at Wyndam Sugar Bay.

Sugar Bay Resort & Spa Review

While the pool and beach are very nice, the room quality and food service are just unacceptable in this price range. First, the rooms are in dire need of renovation and upgrading. The patio furniture was very cheap, there were never enough towels in the room, and the nice in-room bar area had no glasses. Strangely, for a $500/night resort, there is no room service! The only breakfast available is the expensive breakfast buffet in the main lobby restaurant. And, speaking of restaurants, the menus were very small and limited, pricey, and the food quality was poor. There were no kids menus at any of the restaurants. I felt really bad for the people who opted for the all-inclusive plan at an additional $160 per person per day. While the location is nice, you'd definitely want a car so that you can got to the other local restaurants in Red Hook to avoid eating here. I doubt I'd ever go back.
