St. Thomas Sights

99 Steps Review

This staircase "street," built by the Danes in the 1700s, leads to the residential area above Charlotte Amalie and to Blackbeard's Castle, a U.S. national historic landmark. The castle's tower, built in 1679, was once used by the notorious pirate Edward Teach. Today, it's home to life-size pirates crafted out of bronze and copper in the world, the largest such collection in the world. If you count the stairs as you go up, you'll discover, as thousands have before you, that there are more than the name implies.

The pools were nice...as was the rum punch! Otherwise, a bit pricey at $12.
    And yeah, 103 steps.
