Fodor's Review

Set majestically on a promontory overlooking the east side of Charlotte Amalie's harbor, Frenchman's Reef is a high-rise, full-service super-hotel; Morning Star is the even more upscale boutique property that's closer to the fine white-sand beach. Mahogany furniture, flat-screen televisions, and Wi-Fi connections are in all the rooms. Meals here include lavish buffets for breakfast and dinner. Live entertainment and dancing, scheduled activities for all ages, and an hourly boat that shuttles guests to town make having fun easy. Next door is Marriott's Frenchman's Cove time-share resort, which offers two- and three-bedroom units in seven multistory waterfront buildings clustered around a central pool, with a small market, restaurant, and fitness room.
