Fodor's Review

This complex offers modern apartments on lush grounds with lovely views and makes a great pick for a budget stay in a residential locale. Although this is a property from the 1960s, the units don't feel dated. There are colorful spreads, fully equipped kitchens, and bookshelves filled with good vacation reads. You definitely need a car if you stay here, though; it's about 1 mi (1½ km) up a steep hill from Cruz Bay.

Best value and really nice apartments

We (parents and two kids) were happily surprised with these relatively low-cost apartments: nicely appointed, large kitchen, pool, very nice view and cable TV and wi-fi to boot. We walked to Cruz Bay (downhill) but took cabs back.

Best value on St. John

We have stayed at Serendip on our last 3 visits to St. John. The location is awesome close to everthing. The Best part is their are resident managers that are always willing to answer all our questions and help us out when we need it. We have stayed at many private villas in the past that were not very convienent to get to and did not have the views we get at Serendip. In all this is the best place we stayed at on St. John.

Great find on St. John

We stayed previously at Gallows, Lavender, and Westin. Serendip was a pleasant surprise. We had a great view, it was in a nice location, and accommodations were superb. We will return.

Form fits function

If you plan to do day trips and water sports on the skinny, this place is a good choice. Take cheap cabs instead of rent a cars.. can't walk to town but trans is cheaper ,dependable and functional. Clean neat basic rooms. Great for active day people. Save money, stay here..great bargain for a family too. quiet(except for a rooster).
