St. John Restaurants

Lime Inn

Fodor's Review

The vacationers and mainland transplants who call St. John home like to flock to this alfresco spot for the congenial hospitality and good food, including all-you-can-eat shrimp on Wednesday night. Fresh lobster is the specialty, and the menu also includes shrimp-and-steak dishes and rotating chicken and pasta specials.

Unbelievable Lobster

My husband and I went last June for our honeymoon. He had a 2lb. lobster that was caught that morning they told us of the shore. It was the tastiest lobster I have ever had. I strongly recommend going to this romantic restaurant.

Food at Lime Inn is worth passing up

My husband and I ate at the Lime Inn twice during our stay. First time, we ate the all you can eat shrimp. These were so spicy I had to dunk them in my water glass to wash off the spices. This is how they keep your eating to a minimum. We wanted to give them another try. Next time, we ate the crab stuffed filet mignon. Sounds good tastes bland. Imitation crab meat was used. Just thought I'd share our experience.

Good Lobster

Wow was it hot. Wasn't use to open air dining. Had previously enjoyed restaurants in the Caribbean that were air conditioned. I would have enjoyed my meal so much more if we were in an air-conditioned restaurant. Funny the bar was airconditioned? The owner was a character, very friendly and the food was very tasty. I had the lobster which I thoroughly enjoyed. Prices were a little on the high side considering decor and no air but we found most

of the restaurants on St. John's were open air dining and had to get use to it. Tough when your sunburned though.

Average, at best.

I guess I don't see what all the hype is about at Lime Inn. We have dined here on each trip, but it is really quite average. I have crossed it off my list for my upcoming trip to STJ this November. You can do better than this noisy restaurant in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by shops. No atmosphere and on an island one should expect a better view.

Owner inquired as to service

Lime Inn is a must. Open air. Just fun. Food is good;not terrific. Owner was concerned because they had seated a large party and he was concerned that we might feel neglected...we didn't but it was nice to be asked.
