Clairmont Mill

Fodor's Review:

A one-of-a-kind property once featured in Architectural Digest, Clairmont Mill's centerpiece is an old plantation-era sugar mill. The architect-designed house grew up around it, with the kitchen located inside the mill itself. With stellar ocean and mountain views, this five-bedroom villa is the perfect setting for a wedding or family reunion. Owned by an interior decorator, all the rooms exude their own personality. Look for such touches as handmade curtains, tray ceilings, and mahogany furnishings. Pros: Historic setting, great views, interesting decor. Cons: Isolated location, need car to get around.
