By Air in U.S. Virgin Islands

By Air

One advantage to visiting the USVI is the abundance of nonstop and connecting flights to St. Thomas and St. Croix that can have you at the beach in three to four hours from East Coast airports. Small island-hopper planes and a seaplane connect St. Thomas and St. Croix, and a ferry takes you from St. Thomas to St. John.

American, Continental, Delta, Spirit, United, and US Airways fly to the islands; some flights connect through San Juan, Puerto Rico. Cape Air flies from San Juan; Cape Air has code-share arrangements with all major airlines, so your luggage can transfer seamlessly. Seaborne Airlines flies between St. Thomas, St. Croix, and San Juan.
