¢-$$, Caribbean, St. Croix
Fodor's Review:
The dining room is plain, even dowdy, and plastic lace tablecloths constitute the sole attempt at decor -- but who cares? The food is delicious. Daily specials, such as mouthwatering goat stew and tender whelks in butter, served with big helpings of rice, fungi, and vegetables, are listed on the blackboard. Genial owner Sarah Harvey takes great pride in her kitchen, bustling out from behind the stove to chat and urge you to eat up.
