The vast majority of people come to the Turks and Caicos to relax and enjoy the clear, turquoise water.
The Turks and Caicos Islands are known for luxurious hotels, whether on a private island or on Provo itself.
The smaller islands provide a more relaxed environment and substantially less development.
Provo has excellent beaches, particularly the long, soft beach along Grace Bay, where most of the island's hotel development has taken place. If you can believe it, some of the smaller, more-isolated islands in the chain have even better beaches.
Reefs are plentiful and are often close to shore, making snorkeling excellent. The reef and wall diving are among the best in the Caribbean.
The same reefs that draw colorful tropical fish draw big-game fish, so deep-sea fishing is also very good.
If you play golf, Provo has one of the Caribbean's finest courses.
