Getting Here and Around

Air Travel: Several major airlines fly nonstop to Providenciales from the United States, including American (DFW and MIA), United (EWR), Delta (ATL), JetBlue (BOS, JFK), and US Airways (BOS, CLT, PHL). You can also fly from a few other spots in the Caribbean on Air Turks & Caicos or from the Bahamas on Bahamas Air.

Car Rentals: You can get by on Provo without a car, especially if you are staying in the hub of Grace Bay. Rentals are relatively inexpensive on Provo (much more elsewhere), but you have to pay for a temporary driving permit. Gas is also expensive and must often be paid for in cash (except at a couple of Texaco stations on Provo). And don't forget that driving is on the left.

Island Hopping: You can make air connections to three other islands from Providenciales (Grand Turk, South Caicos, and Salt Cay). There's also daily ferry service between Provo and North Caicos and from Grand Turk to Salt Cay and from Middle Caicos to South Caicos. A causeway connects North Caicos to Middle Caicos. Other islands can be reached by charter flight or boat.

Taxis: You can find taxis at the airports in Provo and Grand Turk, but they can be expensive. Fares are set by the government and include two bags per person. On both Grand Turk and South Caicos you need to arrange your airport pickup in advance.
