Weddings in Turks and Caicos Islands

Beautiful oceanfront backdrops, endless starlight nights, and a bevy of romantic accommodations make the islands an ideal wedding destination. The residency requirement is only 24 hours, after which you can apply for a marriage license to the registrar in Grand Turk; the ceremony can take place at any time after the application has been granted, generally within two to three days. You must present a passport, original birth certificate, and proof of current marital status, as well as a letter stating both parties' occupations, ages, addresses, and fathers' full names. No blood tests are required, and the license fee is $50. The ceremony is conducted by a local minister, a justice of the peace, or the registrar. The marriage certificate is filed in the islands, although copies can be sent to your home. There are a number of wedding coordinators on-island, and many resorts offer special wedding packages, which include handling all the details.
