Internet, Mail, and Shipping in Turks and Caicos Islands

Internet, Mail, and Shipping

More Travel Tips »

The majority of resorts throughout the Turks and Caicos offer Wi-Fi service in their public areas, if not in the rooms, so you can keep up with e-mail and the Internet. There are also several Internet cafés, including TCI Online Internet Cafe in the Ports of Call shopping center on Provo; the center offers an all-day plan and also rents cell phones.

The post office is in downtown Provo at the corner of Airport Road (stamp collectors will be interested in the wide selection of stamps sold by the Philatelic Bureau). You'll pay 50¢ to send a postcard to the United States, 60¢ to Canada and the United Kingdom; letters, per ½ ounce, cost 60¢ to the United States, 80¢ to Canada and the United Kingdom. When sending a letter to the Turks and Caicos Islands, be sure to include the specific island and "Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI" (British West Indies). In general, the post office is not very reliable, and packages take an especially long time to arrive. There is no home delivery of mail; everyone has a post office box. Expect postcards to take a month to get to your friends and neighbors, if they get there at all.
