Salt Cay
Getting There
Getting to Salt Cay can sometimes feel like an adventure in itself. Air Turks & Caicos sometimes cancels flights or changes flight times on a whim; in a pinch you can take a charter flight from Provo to Salt Cay on Global Air, but this is only cost-effective for groups, since you pay by the flight, not per person. There's a twice-weekly ferry from Grand Turk to Salt Cay (weather permitting). But if you are on Grand Turk and want to travel before the ferry is scheduled, ask at the dive shops to see if someone can take you over in a private boat. To get back to Grand Turk from Salt Cay, ask Debbie at Salt Cay Divers. The 30- to 40-minute boat trip typically costs $250 to $300, but the weather can sometimes put a damper on your travel plans. Once you reach Salt Cay, you can rent a golf cart from Candy at Pirate's Hideaway, where you can pay by credit card.
