Arches of Grand Turk

Fodor's Review:

Upstairs and downstairs, east- and west-facing balconies from these four ridge-top town houses ensure nicely framed views of both sunrise and sunset. Canadian husband-and-wife team Wally and Cecile Wennick left Florida in the 1990s after more than a decade in the hospitality industry to create this hillside home away from home, less than a five-minute walk from the deserted east beach. The well-equipped town houses are peppered with Cecile's handicrafts, including painted glass bottles, embroidery, and wall hangings that combine to give the airy houses a homespun feel. Weekly housekeeping is included in the rate, but daily maid service costs extra. Pros: quiet getaway; feels like home. Cons: not on the beach; requires a car.

  • Hotel Details: 4 town houses
  • In-room: kitchen, Wi-Fi.
  • In-hotel: pool, laundry service, Internet terminal, bicycles.
