Fishing
The fertile waters around Turks and Caicos are great for angling—anything from bottom- and reef-fishing (most likely to produce plenty of bites and a large catch) to bonefishing and deep-sea fishing (among the finest in the Caribbean). Several tournaments annually attract anglers from across the islands and around the world—with a significant number of Americans on the roster—who compete to catch the biggest Atlantic blue marlin, tuna, or wahoo. For any fishing activity, you are required to purchase a $15 visitor's fishing license; operators generally furnish all equipment, drinks, and snacks. Prices start at around $800 for a half day and go up from there, depending on the length of trip and size of boat. Outside of the following list of deep-sea operators, for operators who may take you out reef-, bottom-, and bonefishing.
Bite Me Fishing Charters. For deep-sea sportfishing, Captain Fineline does not require anyone to have previous experience... just a desire to get out on the water and enjoy the day. Grand Slam Fishing Charters. For deep-sea fishing trips in search of marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna, barracuda, and shark, look up this company. Panoply, owned and operated by residents of TCI for more than 25 years, is a 46-foot Bertram Sport Fisherman that charters deep-sea fishing trips, boasting a soft interior and state-of-the-art electronics.
