Fodor's Review

Secluded. Peaceful. Elegant. Amanyara is its own world, nestled in nature with the ultimate Zen-like atmosphere. There’s no place quite like this breathtaking, high-end luxury resort. It's in a category all its own, harmoniously blended into the indigenous vegetation on the northwest point of the island. The 38 timber-shingled Guest Pavilions offer unprecedented privacy, each with a combined bedroom/living space. You'll wake up surrounded by views of your own 12-meter private pool, reflection pond, or ocean vistas; three sides of the pavilion are floor-to-ceiling windows, with private outdoor terraces and natural gardens surrounding them. Interiors are minimalistic yet luxuriously appointed, with stand-alone tubs and rain showers, your own private bar area, and creature comforts such as as TVs, DVD players, and high-end surround-sound systems. The warmth of wood echoes throughout both the interiors and exteriors, complementing nature to its fullest. In addition, 20 distinct Aman Villas

are set within their own slice of heaven, a half-acre of lush terrain consisting of a bluff, beach, or reflection pond and garden location. This accommodation is made up of a series of pavilions, seamlessly combining outdoor and indoor living. Offering three-, four-, or five-bedroom options, the Villas are the ultimate in personal space, again presented in minimalist, Asian-influenced, understated elegance—with their own personal chef and housekeeping staff. The common areas of the resort itself are anything but that; each element has been carefully situated to take full advantage of large pools catching reflections of treetops and magical starlit nights, or sweeping views of the rugged shoreline and blues beyond. There are two restaurants on-site with live music Friday and Saturday evenings, an incredible bar pavilion (where you must try the champagne mojitos), an infinity-edge lava-rock-lined swimming pool, movie room, and well-stocked library. To complete the picture, there is an amazing spa in one of the Villa Pavilions, with private quiet pool and meditation terrace in addition to their full-service menu. Amanyara’s Nature Discovery Centre offers daily activities for guests of all ages, with the island’s indigenous flora and fauna as its focus, as well as TCI's marine community. The resort’s location adjacent to the pristine reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park offers a myriad of wonderful experiences for divers and snorkelers alike. This is the place to come if you are looking for the ultimate in peace and quiet in a remote location on a stunning waterfront. Outside guests may use the spa and restaurant facilities with permission received in advance; access is not available at all times.
