This hotel in a good neighborhood just off Queen's Park Savannah is the best all-around value if you want to stay in the city; it offers a high level of comfort and service. Although it does not have the myriad amenities of the nearby Hilton, many people prefer the more intimate feel of the Kapok. Rooms vary greatly in size, with the Savannah-facing rooms being generally much larger. Those considering longer stays would be well advised to choose one of the suites with a balcony as the price difference is minimal. The hotel's restaurant, Tiki Village, offers some of the most reliably good food on the island and is popular with locals. Bois Cano, the alfresco bistro and wine bar, is lovely and relaxed and has live jazz on Thursday evenings, not to mention afternoon tea. The Ellerslie Plaza mall is a three-minute walk from the front door. Pros: great location away from downtown noise; more-intimate alternative to Hilton and Hyatt; one of the best restaurants on the island. Cons: lacks some of the services of larger hotels; pool is a bit small.
