Although the hotel lacks some of the fancier amenities, there's still something magical about its air of 1970s grandeur, which cannot be found at the flashy new resorts. Rooms are spacious and perfectly adequate, though not as luxe as those in other similarly priced hotels on the island. A lovely beach, where drinks are served and towels dispensed, sits right across the road. The hotel's restaurants are best avoided, though, since the service is generally slow and the food insipid. Pros: beautiful grounds; perfect for the golf lover; access to one of the prettiest beaches. Cons: public spaces feel dated; poor restaurant service.
