The Verandah Review

Owner and hostess Phyllis Vieira has been running a restaurant since the 1980s; she prides herself on her "free-style Caribbean" dishes. The open verandah, interior, and courtyard of this beautiful gingerbread-style colonial house provide a suitable setting for the reasonably priced, consistently excellent menu, which changes weekly and is brought to you on a blackboard by the attentive, white-garbed staff.

This restaurant is wonderful. It's full of character But please note that they DO accept credit cards and are open for lunch everyday and for dinner only two nights a week, Thursday and Saturday.

Excellent Local Cuisine - Homemade and Healthy

The Verandah is one of Trinidad's best kept secrets... I can't believe you don't have to make reservations days in advance. Always a simple but delicious local menu with friendly service and a great price. You can check out their full menu if you like on cre-ole.com or their home page there is http://www.cre-ole.com/trinidad/dining/restaurants/verandah/index.html
