Owner and hostess Phyllis Vieira has been running a restaurant since the 1980s; she prides herself on her "free-style Caribbean" dishes. The open veranda, interior, and courtyard of this beautiful gingerbread-style colonial house provide a suitable setting for the reasonably priced, consistently excellent menu, which changes weekly and is brought to you on a blackboard by the attentive, white-garbed staff. One of the most consistently excellent restaurants in the city.

The Verandah is one of Trinidad's best kept secrets... I can't believe you don't have to make reservations days in advance. Always a simple but delicious local menu with friendly service and a great price. You can check out their full menu if you like on cre-ole.com or their home page there is http://www.cre-ole.com/trinidad/dining/restaurants/verandah/index.html
