The Port Authority maintains ferry service every day between Trinidad and Tobago, although flying is preferable because the seas can be very rough. The trip can be made by either a conventional or high-speed CAT ferry. The ferries leave once a day (from St. Vincent Street Jetty in Port of Spain and from the cruise-ship complex in Scarborough); the trip on the conventional ferry takes about 5 hours and the high-speed CAT takes 2 1/2 hours. The round-trip fare is TT$100. The conventional ferry runs TT$75 (round-trip).
