This truly classy, all-suites resort on Reduit Beach -- St. Lucia's best beach -- caters to your every whim. The stunning reception area has a vaulted atrium, marble walls, a fountain, and a sweeping grand staircase. The free-form pool has Japanese-style bridges, a waterfall, and a swim-up bar. Sumptuous guest suites all have sitting areas, luxurious bathrooms, large patios or balconies, and soothing color schemes. Eight beachfront suites are huge, with special amenities such as a wide-screen TV, DVD, and stereo equipment. Massages, hydrotherapy, and other treatments can be arranged at the Royal Spa. Dine at the elegant Chic!, the sea-view L'Epicure, or lunch at the casual Beach Tent. Alternatively, you're within walking distance of a dozen or so Rodney Bay restaurants, nightclubs, and shopping areas. Tennis, water-sports facilities, and the children's club are shared with the adjacent Rex St. Lucian Hotel.

Stayed here 18/12/07 to 01/01/08. This hotel no way merits it's 5 star status. The overall demeanour is tired and in need of upgrading. They say they pride themselves on the quality of service in the food and beverages department but this was frankly deplorable. Waiting times were extreme to say the least and orders, if they arrived at all, were often incomplete and of poor quality. On making a complaint about the service at reception I was told that all managers were too busy to see me. However, the number of complaints from residents both from the US and UK made for some interesting discussions on the beach!
Be aware that the Virgin Atlantic air crew also stay here and tend to take over beach, pool area, bar and anything else they can and are often quite rowdy. On one particular evening the captain demanded a bowl of peanuts at the bar. The barman duly placed several bowls evenly spaced out on the bar counter. Said captain then promptly snatched the bowl that was placed in front of me without even a by your leave. If he was that hungry why didn’t he take the bags of Pretzels from the aircraft he’d just landed?
Passengers from visiting cruise liners also seem to be given priority over the beach facilities so the service deteriorates even further.
