The terrace restaurant at Ladera Resort has breathtakingly close-up views of the Pitons and the sea between them, especially at sunset. Casual by day and magical at night, the restaurant offers a creative menu best described as nouvelle Caribbean. Appetizers may include island crab salad or silky pumpkin soup with ginger. Typical entrées are grilled barracuda or kingfish with jerk- or herb-flavored butter, shrimp Dasheene (panfried with local herbs), seared duck breast with passion-fruit jus, or baron fillet of beef with sweet potato and green-banana mash. Light dishes, salads, and sandwiches are served at lunchtime.

The place is to visit for the view. The rest is fine, but not outstanding. It's a long way from anywhere.
