These twin connected eyebrows of glittering champagne-colored sand with majestic views of Nevis are backed by lush vegetation and shaded by coconut palms, stretching nearly 2 mi total (3 km) at the southeastern tip of the island. The sole development is Lion Rock Beach Bar, but Turtle Beach Bar and Grill is practically around the corner. Locals often come here weekends, throwing bonfire parties at night. The water is generally placid, ideal for swimming. The downside is irregular maintenance, with seaweed (particularly after rough weather) and occasional litter. Follow Simmonds Highway to the end and bear right, ignoring the turnoff for Turtle Beach. Beach aficionados should check out Majors Bay, the cove just to the west, where you can see locals fishing.
