St. Vincent's E. T. Joshua Airport is in ArnoVale, about halfway between Kingstown and Villa Beach. It's a small but busy airport and accommodates only turboprop passenger aircraft or small private jets. In the Grenadines, Canouan's modern airport has an extended runway that can accommodate jets. Bequia, Mustique, and Union islands each have an airstrip with frequent regional service. Taxis and buses are readily available at the airport on St. Vincent. The taxi fare to hotels in either Kingstown or the Villa Beach area is $10 (or EC$25). Taxi service is available from the airports on Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, and Union islands.
Renting a Car: You can rent a car on either St. Vincent or Bequia, but rates are fairly expensive; you must also purchase a temporary driving permit. If you rent a car, though, you'll have more flexibility to go out to dinner and explore the island at your leisure. Many people will be happy to hire a driver for the day or to take a scheduled tour, but the island scenery is dramatically beautiful, so having the freedom to explore at your own pace may be worth the price. A scooter or moped is a less-expensive option.
