Beautiful beaches and excellent waters for sailing can be found throughout the Grenadines. The beaches on St. Vincent have dark, volcanic sand and, while beautiful, are less than excellent for swimming and sunbathing. You come to these islands to really get away from it all and for relaxation, but don't miss the opportunity to do some easy island-hopping.
The reef system surrounding the uninhabited Tobago Cays offers some of the best snorkeling in the world. Around St. Vincent itself, the waters are rich with marine life, offering divers abundant places to explore.
On land, you can hike through St. Vincent's verdant forests or climb its volcano, La Soufrière. But if you are staying at one of the excellent, luxurious resorts on an isolated Grenadine island, you may be tempted to lie back, immerse yourself in the moment, and do little more than to raise your flag for another rum punch.
