Longtime visitors to St. Martin are sure to remember the award-winning cuisine prepared by chef Stephane Decluseau at L'Astrolabe. Now, along with his partner Damien Pointeau, he's opened this Grand Case waterfront restaurant. You can hang out on beach chairs outside if you'd like, but the real action is inside, where creative and first-rate cooking is served with charm, precision, and panache. A tasting-plate of foie gras, or the incomparable foamy "lobster cappuccino"
soup are fine starters, mains are lively and unique, and the desserts are gorgeous edible art (try the crème brûlée tasting, with three variations on the theme). The €29 prix-fixe is a good deal.
