A $10-million renovation in 2011 has brought a new level of service, design, and comfort to this family-friendly resort with 18 prime acres on one of the island's prettiest beachy coves. Comfortable rooms, while not huge, have been refurbished with contemporary Euro flair, cheerful accents of Caribbean colors, and fresh carpeting. There are good bathrooms, comfy beds, flat-screen TVs, and in-room Internet. One-bedroom suites overlooking the marina have sleeper sofas and enough space for a small family, plus areas are very acessible for strollers or wheelchairs if you are traveling with the whole gang. Guests spread out around the enormous free-form oceanside pool and pool-bar, and take advantage of a lovely spa, modern fitness center, two restaurants (one casual, one upscale with gorgeous views). For destination events, there's even a 7,000-square-foot ballroom with a serious sound system. But best of all, for those frustrated by the long trip from the airport, the Radisson Blu has inaugurated a private water-shuttle service directly from the airport (for an additional charge). Getting there is now really part of the fun.
