Pineapple Pete Review

This popular, casual, and fun (if slightly touristy) place is well located, with a game room that includes seven pool tables, four dart boards, an arcade, and flat-screen TVs tuned to sports. A friendly, efficient staff will serve you burgers, seafood, and ribs, but for a real treat try one of the specialties like the tasty crab-stuffed shrimp appetizer. Follow it up with succulent, herb-crusted rack of lamb. There's free Wi-Fi and live entertainment Tuesday through Sunday. It's an easy choice for a bite near the airport, and is open from 11 am through closing. Note the 15% service charge included in the check. There's also a little shop for with T-shirts and local crafts for sale.

    Chance discovery

I don't know how long Pin Pete's has been in its current location but we visit St Maarten every yr (at least once a yr for 20+ yrs) and just stumbled upon this last yr. Efficient and very friendly staff. Food is of a wide variety and I'm salivating right now as I think of it. Full rack of ribs is too much for 1 person but I ordered it once and followed with half-racks at later visits. It's funky "Island style". Far end is on the lagoon which is neat for the view. Food doesn't disappoint. Prices are reasonable and drinks are great. Come as you are, right from the beach or otherwise. Doesn't matter. Live and lively entertainment from late afternoon. Fun.

    Ripped off

We went for a simple lunch and a few cocktails. We heard the place was pretty good. The wait staff was slow and the place was not that busy. When we received the bill I was a bit confused. There was a line at the bottom that said tax and it was crossed out and beside that was written fifteen percent. So I called the guy over and inquired. He told me three percent was a tax and the rest was a service charge. So I asked what is the service charge for? He was not sure. So I asked if that was gratuity ? He said no. So I believed him and put down a tip anyway. I later inquired at another restaurant and found that Pineapple Pete or there wait staff robbed you. It wasn't a lot of money but it's just the point. And I took the bill to prove it to all. I will never go back there again. So who is the loser.
